Hi Newbie Cruiser
I too am booked on this cruise from Southampton to Dubai, we are also newbies to the crusing scene. I have booked it for myself and my husband for our 20th Anniversary. 
We will be flying out of Australia on the 8th of January leaving 30+ temperatures and will be spending one night in London before heading down to Southampton for the night prior to joining the ship.
We have been looking forward to this all year, we booked in back in February, and now that we only have a few months left the excitement is finally starting to grow.
I do hope that you are as excited as we are.
