As we were due to depart, the winds were too high and the lateral clearance there looks like the Panama bloody Canal! By the time the winds finally died down, they said it was too dark! So we missed St. John NS, but they did a bang-up job finding us a berth at Halifax for a brief day on shore (on really short notice) to make up for it. We were duly impressed.
The description of the departure included the Captain's use of the word "Panama" somewhere as I recall. Combined with a couple of inches below the keel, and ... you have to wonder if MW has to pay to have the river dredged every couple of years?
