We have had shrimp in the past without no difficulty.
Yes, we did in the past have a full lobster as a main course and even a Split Cold Lobster that was served in the past at Lunches. I do remember the last cruise we did have Lobster Tails with Surf & Turf. Some people even asked for two tails instead of the turf, and they were served.
In the lounge there is usually a pianist, or the strings quartet or the harpist. Never just a guitarist.
We too saw the trio before and after Dinner Time playing in the Grand Lobby, Deck 2, Midship by the Front Desk. Maybe a single instrument in a lounge for cocktail time as interlude music.
The cabin stewards do clean quite a few cabins so their responsibilities may have increased.
Only time we saw the staff working more rooms were when others were on shore leave or in port when turning around the trip for a new sailing.
My dinner waiter was serving 22 seats but there was a 3rd waiter who moved around assisting where needed in our section.
We too always had a Main Waiter with an Assistant at our table, and additional help even the Asst Capt. of the area when additional passengers came late or between Salad to Entree to Dessert time.
I've been sailing on the QM2 for 4 years and don't remember any free gifts except for the sailaway bottle of Pol Acker in your cabin.
Yes, from our first sailing on the QE2 to the Caronia to the QM2, we did get beach bags, Cunard Pins, Men's (ship name) Hats for example in the past. Not on the last several sailing on the Mary. The Couresty Bottle of different sizes have always been tradition from Day 1.
On several sailings of the QE2, one on the Caronia and one of the QM2, we did find Sugared & Chocolate covered Strawberries in our cabin on embarkation without anyone ever ordering them.
Once on a partial sailing of the World Cruise, we did get two gifts of the sailing.
They still provide robes and slippers and of course the bedtime chocolates.
Yes, the robes & slippers are excellent idea we will not have to bring with up and take up luggage space. And those sweet treats at night are special.
Yes, we will see if there are any cutbacks on this sailing since the were on last March 08.[/quote]
