I do not consider them to be free at all. Are they available for free to the general public? Or does a person have to pay for a ticket in order to get these items? If I write to Cunard will they send me a members' pin for free? Will the "give" me a "free" black ticket wallet? Will they give me anything I ask for because it is "free" ? Or will I have to book and pay for a sailing? If they won't give them away to anyone that writes to ask for them they I consider them not to be free, but available at no additional cost.
That is the way I look at it. Others of course may view it differently.
Just like the home builders that advertise, "Free two gar garage"" well how about i come out to the jobsite with a humongous truck and get my free two car garage. Nope not gonna happen. It is really only available to me if I buy the home that is attached to that garage.
Wonder if anyone has ever sued a builder for that free two car garage? lol
To answer you question, since they paid for the right to get those free items, I do feel that they can do whatever they want with them, unless they were given with some sort of a caveat.
