I have been on both and will give you my opinion. The Sun is a member of the Sun Class ships which are my favorite both for ship size and amt of pax. It is easy to find your way around on them. The Grand was my first "huge" ship and also my first balcony. For the first few days I got lost a lot. In spite of the size and # of pax, it didn't feel real crowded to me. The cruise was to the Western Caribbean, which was my least liked itinarary. I came away still preferring the Sun. However I have since been on the Star and Emerald which are very similar to the Grand, thus I didn't get lost on them. I would not hessitate to sail on the Grand again....but still preferr the Sun Class. JMO
