Carnival Freedom
We just got back from a six night Carnival Cruise on the Freedom. We have always sailed on Holland America, I was pleasently surprised on Carnival. We were celebrating my twin sisters 50th Birthday. I knew they wanted to let down their hair a bit. So I figured Carnival would be the most likely cruise line for two 50 year olds to celebrate. I must say I was REALLY worried about the cruise because, in the past Carnival had the reputation of being a noisy, loud, party boat. My husband and I are not big partiers. We enjoy good dinners, shows and quiet nights on our balcony in the moonlight and good reading time by the pool. We booked three penthouse suites and off we went. I can't begin to tell you what a FANTASTIC time we had! The suites were much larger than the deluxe verandan suite we always stay in on Holland. The adult pool was an adult pool, parents with children were asked to go to the kiddy pool. The service was flawless, the shows were great, the food was delicious. The service and food at the Sun King supper club far surpassed the food and service at the Pinnacle on Holland. Best of all, the price we paid for both of us on Carnival would have only paid for one of us on Holland. I was also very impressed to see the number of people who dressed for dinner every night. Many men wore Tuxedo's on formal night, and the women were dressed in beautiful gowns. I am very impressed with Carnival.
