Hi Dormaggy, they can't tell you why because the line is simply different.Their ships sail full from Ft. Lauderdale every week when they are here for the Caribbean season. I would implore you to try them and keep an open mind. If you cruise with them in Europe, they cater to Europeans, so the food is European, and so are the customs and cultures. Their ships have beautiful interior decor, very Italian. I tried Costa in the Caribbean in March, 2007 and enjoyed my cruise. I will love to experience the line in the Mediterranean and Europe.

Where are you planning on cruising with them? If you head over to the cruise gallery, I have some pictures of the Costa Magica(the ship I cruised on, 7day E. Carib), and the Costa Mediterranea.

Go ahead and give Costa a try. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
