I know exactly what you mean our airfare to London has really added to the cost of our cruise this time. (About AUD$2,600 - US$1,700 each)
In the weekend paper a new airline Asia X (low cost) has just start flight from Australia to London via Kuala Lumpur for only AUD$1,000. You have to pay for all food, drink and luggage on top of that. But thats still incredibly cheap.
Hopefully my next few cruises will be out of Fremantle so no airfares required
