For Example, this Seal CoAst Safari is available in the Wellington area:

This half-day safari offers a unique view of the rugged beauty of Seal Coast, situated on Wellington's South Coast. Travel is by Toyota Landcruiser, firstly on a coastal ranch, then right on the beach, with waves lapping our wheel-arches! Small numbers on the safari (maximum 9 per vehicle) make for friendly and informative tours. We explore Wellington's fault-line on the way, and get fabulous views of the city spread out 400m below us, and the mountainous South Island, 50-100km away. Stories abound as we 4-wheel drive right on the beach around to Tongue Point, which is home both to the awesome New Zealand Fur Seal, and the famous Leaning Lighthouse. Tea or coffee with a fine muffin is enjoyed with the seals, then it's around the rocky bays and black-sand beaches back to Wellington city. That completes the round trip, which is designed to rank as one of the best experiences you can get of 'real' New Zealand. Tea or coffee with muffin with the seals. Free soft toy seal if you quote AA08 when you book this tour. Departures 10am and 1.30pm.
