Hi Victoria,
I was one of the ones on the Spirit Cruise who collected the money donations for the Marsh Orphanage, with the help of Roberto the port authority officer, he helped me contact Jovita (Head of the house) and she arrived in a van to pick-up Me, Roberto, my husband, my good friend and her mother, then took us to Costco to purchase food for the kids, they then took us to the orphanage, we met all the kids and got a grand tour of the place and they took us on a small tour of Acapulco and then back to the ship. It was a wonderful experience!!!!
Roberto is "ACA Port Dude" on here and you can contact him through this thread

We had to collect money to take there because the port immigration would not let us take clothes and such. I did go to the thrift store and purchase some backpacks (some were also shipped to me as donations) and we filled them with school supplies. We had already collected these things before we were told we could not bring them off the ship, so I had others lined up to carry a backpack off the ship like it was their tour bag, when I got off with mine , I told Roberto what was in it and he went and asked the immigration guy and they let us through with them.
