Good question. I want to believe that they(Carnival) wanted to try the larger Spa(Cloud 9) and the Spa stateroom concept in the Carnival brand. That's where the difference stops between the Splendor class and the Conquest class Carnival ships. The Samsara Spa and Spa stateroom concept on the Costa Concordia & Costa Serena seem to be a huge hit for them in Europe.
Also, don't forget, the Carnival Destiny(1996) is the only ship in a class too. The Triumph & Victory(1999 & 2000) are really modified Destiny Class vessels with the extra cabins on the Lido Deck, so they were classed as Triumph Class ships. |
