Paradise Beach has a good reputation with a loyal following.
We go there several times a year.
Here is the scoop.... it is a free beach which means they do not charge an entrance fee (some others do). The Lounge Chairs, Tables, Umbrellas, CLEAN Restrooms, Changing Rooms and Internet at the bar are all free. All they ask is that you eat/drink while you are there. The drinks and food are great.
They do offer an OPTIONAL wristband for $10.00 that covers the use of all their water and land toys for all day. This includes 2 water trampolines, an iceberg, kayaks, snorkeling and floats (individual and multi person). They also have a land bungie trampoline. You can even climb a coconut tree!! The OPTIONAL part is great because our 2 boys always get the wristbands and hubby and I do not. (we are shade people)
They also have lockers for $4 a day...but we have never needed them.
Tom and his crew run a tight ship.
Now about the water....ALL the West side of the island has the same water.
It faces the Mexican coastline. This is great because it is a safe place to swim (no rip currents like the EAST side) but it does get murky if a Norte blows in.
There is no commercial beach resorts on the EAST side because it is dangerous to swim there. All the commercial beach resorts are on the West side and they all have the same water.
Do not worry about "crowds".... there are two other beaches (if it does get crowded) to handle the over flow. And even if you are at SFB or CNC (adjacent to Paradise Beach) you can still purchase and enjoy their wristbands!!
A taxi to all the Beach Resorts is $12 -15 one way for up to 4 people. (depending on whether you are docking at Punta Langosta or Puerto Maya)
There are more taxis than sand...so do not worry about getting a taxi back to the ship.
Have a great day in Paradise!!!
