Absolutely feel your pain. We're in Ohio and are cruising out of Los Angeles in December. We booked our flights as soon as we could, for fear of fuel induced rate hikes. We had originally planned on flying one of the "bargain" airlines, Skybus, but they couldn't compete due to fuel costs. They all-of-a-sudden filed for bankruptcy and closed their doors, leaving some folks stranded at their destinations with now worthless round-trip tickets. We went with one of the big boys, Northwest, giving us at least some small amount of hope that they'll still be around by December.
