Sorry I'm just seeing this. We were in Casa de Campo last year March on the Costa Magica.
We did an Eco-Tour purchased on the ship, drove down to Punta Cana on the tour bus. It was a very nice tour down the coast on high speed boats, through the swamp. When we returned to the ship we had lunch on board, then hired a taxi to downtown La Romana for US$20(for three of us), and for an extra US$10, we went to Altos de Chavon, an area designed as an old Spanish town with shops etc. We drove through Casa de Campo, a resort area with private homes and saw the marina on the way back to the port.
There was also a tour to Santo Domingo, the Capital of the Dom. Republic, but we were glad we didn't take that tour as the drive alone is 4 hours round trip. There are a few other tours offered by Costa, I'll have to dig them up.
