Hi, and welcome to CLF!
Here are some answers to your questions.
Should you get a Travel Agent? In a word, YES. Of course, you can do it yourself, but it's a LOT easier with a good TA. And, it won't cost you more to use a TA that to do it yourself. In fact, it could end up saving you a few bucks.
If you want to do a four night cruise from Florida, your choices will be either the Bahamas or the Bahamas. That was an easy one, wasn't it?
Choosing the cruise line and ship is a little more involved... each line has a different personality. For example, Celebrity tends to be a little quieter and more upscale, while Carnival and Royal Caribbean provide more activities. Disney, of course, is Disney... and is the only one of the majors that does NOT have a casino on board, but it DOES have Mickey and Goofy.
Royal Caribbean includes in their Bahamas Itinerary a stop at their private island. Carnival does not.
The time of year that you cruise will pretty much dictate the price... and prices do vary a great deal.
A good TA can help you sort all of this out. And, if you have particular concerns, the folks on this board are great about answering all sorts of specific questions.
