think about what you might wear at a really nice wedding or even dressier, if you feel like it. For my first cruise, I went to a mall store that specializes in prom and fancy dresses. Bought a long white dress and a floor length black one piece pantsuit. My guy brought a suit.

Since then, I've been on eight more cruises and stare into my closet to decide which outfits I'm bringing to wear at dinner. I don't have anything sparkly, but many women get glitzed up. Sometimes I just wear a cocktail length dress and feel dressed up with some jewelry.

Once or twice we decided to skip formal night dinner and just go to the buffet. On many of the cruiselines, you don't have to feel that you have to stay in your cabin just because you're not going formal that night. But there's something fun about getting all spiffed up and being in that dining room and seeing what everyone else is wearing.
