LOL! I can't imagine that either! I grew up swimming and going to the beach when ever my mom could get away and my DH grew up not so much in the water! I have one kid who loves the water and my DS could honestly live without it! At least he gets into water (pool, lake, ocean) now- a few years ago, he always sat on the ground- didn't even want to dangle his feet in!
