Lulu, I haven't been to Mourne Rouge Beach, but have been nearby and stayed on the Grand Anse side. The photos we've been able to locate show Mourne Rouge to be beautiful. I'm a bit biased, but Grenada really does have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including Grand Anse.
From what I've been able to read, Mourne Rouge is just around the corner from Grand Anse. It's reportedly "calmer" in tide than Grand Anse but I can't possibly imagine how as there is no tide on any of the Caribbean Sea side beaches due to the fact that you are just 17 degrees above the equator. Really! It's so quiet. Once there was a tropical storm off the coast of Grenada which caused the tiniest of tide on Grand Anse beach, but the waves were only about 4" tall.
Anyway, Mourne Rouge looks beautiful and if you plan an excursion there, enjoy! There's one resort on the beach so you should be able to use the facilities if needed. If you want to go on your own, there is a water taxi that goes between St. George's to Grand Anse beach for just $3 US. The people on Grenada are very friendly and would probably be willing to make a stop on Morne Rough for you for just a couple more.
