However, it puts added emphasis on the advantage on flying, or driving, in a day early to ensure you're there on time. That same notice tells you it's vitally important to have your immigration stuff in order before you go too. If you get there on time, but they have to enter all that stuff before you board, it could make you late, and again you will be left standing there. The Princess notice I got this morning says they need to have all that information at least 90 minutes before departure. Make sure you enter it on the line's personalizer.

Unfortunately there are so many things these days that are out of the Cruiselines control where flying is concerned. Weather, shortage of pilot hours (Northwest), terror threat, nonscheduled maintenance.....
This extra requirement certainly should get everyone to thinking about coming in the day before if at all possible.
